WHAT WE DO
Hands-on Robotics:
Engineering. Coding. Making
Campers rotate through four tracks over the week, using the VEX IQ engneering kits, software, and robot kits used by Blast Robotics in FIRST Robotics Competition.

Learn. Build. Create. Lead.
Students turn ideas into working mechanisms through hands-on engineering. They learn how to safely use hand and power tools, measure and assemble components, and test their designs. Working in teams, campers build, troubleshoot, and improve their robots while developing practical skills in problem-solving, creativity, and engineering.
Students experience the complete robot-building process, from planning and sketching ideas to assembling components and bringing their designs to life. Through hands-on challenges, they explore how mechanical parts work together, practice precision and teamwork, and learn how to identify and solve design problems. Each project gives campers the opportunity to experiment, make adjustments, and see their ideas become a functioning machine.
By the end of the day, every camper has designed, built, and tested something of their own.

Coding and Controls
Program motors, sensors, and autonomous routines in Java using WPILib — the same framework FRC teams use in competition every season.

CAD and Engineering Design
Model a real part in industry-standard CAD software, simulate it, then build it by hand. A skill that transfers directly to high school, college, and career.

Demo Day & Team Challenge
On the final afternoon, teams compete in a friendly robot challenge and present their work to families, mentors, and the Blast Robotics team.
What’s next
Summer 2027 is on the way
We’re already planning next summer’s camp. Here’s what we’re working on.
Campers will choose a specialization: mechanical, electrical, or software, with deeper hands-on time in each.
Teams will compete on a real FRC-style field in front of families on the final day, mirroring a real competition event.
Camp challenges will use elements from the 2027 FRC season game, announced in January.
We’re working to fund more need-based scholarships so every student who wants to attend can attend.
