BLAST Robotics Prepares Future STEM Leaders Through Comprehensive Summer Camp Training and Community Partnerships

Berwyn, PA — BLAST Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10989 and a program of Keystone STEM Alliance, is making final preparations for its 2026 Summer STEM Camps through extensive staff training, facility enhancements, and partnerships with industry leaders committed to inspiring the next generation of innovators.
As enrollment continues to grow, student leaders, counselors, and adult volunteers recently participated in a comprehensive training program designed to ensure a safe, engaging, and impactful learning experience for every camper.
The training focused on camp operations, leadership development, safety procedures, and student engagement strategies. Counselors were introduced to the newly organized robotics workshop, which features dedicated team workspaces, presentation areas, engineering challenge zones, and competition fields where students will collaborate, design, build, and test their creations throughout the week.
“Our goal is not only to teach robotics and engineering concepts, but also to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills that students can carry with them throughout their lives,” said by the Director of Operations Mayon Saha, who’s part of BLAST Robotics leadership team.
The camp’s student leadership structure includes Head Counselors, a Safety Director, Program Director, Media Manager, and Logistics Coordinator, each responsible for ensuring daily operations run smoothly while maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment. Additional counselors and adult mentors will provide direct support to student teams throughout the program.
A major component of the training emphasized youth protection, camper well-being, and professional conduct. Staff members reviewed conflict resolution procedures, supervision expectations, emergency response protocols, evacuation plans, and facility safety requirements. Camp leaders reinforced the importance of creating an environment where every student feels welcomed, respected, and empowered to succeed.
In preparation for camp activities, counselors also received training on engineering challenges, judging procedures, scoring systems, and competition management to ensure a consistent and fair experience for all participants. The first featured challenge, “Space Race,” will introduce campers to engineering design principles through hands-on problem-solving and collaborative competition.
Beyond camp operations, BLAST Robotics continues to strengthen connections with local businesses, sponsors, and industry professionals to expand educational opportunities for students. The organization is currently working with community partners, including Penn State Grest Valley, Isolite Corporation and TE Connectivity, to explore guest STEM seminar opportunities that would allow campers to learn directly from professionals in engineering, manufacturing, technology, entrepreneurship, and business leadership.
The team has also partnered with Eadeh Enterprises to help increase awareness of STEM education opportunities throughout the region. Through community outreach and local promotional efforts, BLAST Robotics aims to inspire more students to explore careers in robotics, engineering, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies.
Each Friday, families will be invited to attend a showcase and awards ceremony where campers will present their projects, demonstrate newly acquired skills, and celebrate their accomplishments alongside peers, mentors, and community supporters.
With preparations well underway, BLAST Robotics is excited to welcome students from across the region for a summer filled with innovation, creativity, collaboration, and discovery.
