Villanova Faculty Visit to BLAST Robotics Workshop

We are excited to share an important milestone for BLAST Robotics – FRC Team 10989 and Keystone STEM Alliance as we continue expanding opportunities for students through robotics, engineering, and STEM education.
Recently, Chuang-Chuang Sun from Villanova University’s Mechanical Engineering Department, along with members of the Robotics and AI Lab research team, visited the BLAST Robotics workshop for an official exploratory collaboration visit.
The visit focused on exploring meaningful pathways for students through mentorship, research exposure, university engagement, and future opportunities in robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and advanced engineering innovation. Discussions also included potential opportunities for students to gain exposure to Villanova University’s Robotics and AI Lab environment, research initiatives, and advanced prototyping and manufacturing facilities.
For BLAST Robotics, this represents a significant institutional relationship during our rookie year and reflects the growing recognition of the work our students, mentors, and volunteers are building through FIRST Robotics and community-driven STEM education. Experiences like these help students connect classroom learning with real-world engineering, innovation, and research opportunities.
We sincerely thank Professor Sun and the Villanova Robotics and AI Lab research team for visiting our workshop and for their willingness to support and mentor the next generation of innovators, engineers, and problem solvers.
Special thanks to Robotics Coach Glenn Baker and Hari Ponugoti for facilitating the visit and helping align long-term opportunities for our students and program.
This collaboration represents more than robotics alone — it is part of building a stronger AI and robotics innovation pipeline for the future.
