Celebrating 85 Years of Service, Community, and Leadership with the Paoli–Berwyn–Malvern Lions Club

BLAST Robotics was honored to join the Paoli–Berwyn–Malvern Lions Club in celebrating their 85th Anniversary during the community Ice Cream Social at the Royer-Greaves School for Blind. The event was a meaningful opportunity for our students to engage with community members, support volunteers, and learn about the Lions Club’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian service and community impact.

At BLAST Robotics, we believe robotics is about more than engineering, coding, and competitions. It is also about building compassionate leaders who understand the importance of teamwork, service, and using technology to positively impact others. Through events like this, students gain valuable experiences that help strengthen leadership, communication, and empathy.

We are grateful to the Paoli–Berwyn–Malvern Lions Club for welcoming our team and allowing us to be part of such a special celebration. Learning about initiatives such as vision care, eyeglass recycling, and community outreach reminded our students that innovation and service can go hand in hand in creating stronger communities.

BLAST Robotics was honored to join the Paoli–Berwyn–Malvern Lions Club in celebrating their remarkable 85th Anniversary during the community Ice Cream Social held at the Royer-Greaves School for Blind.

The event was more than a celebration — it was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, service, and intergenerational connection.

Many people often view robotics and STEM education as fields focused only on technology, coding, engineering, or competitions. While innovation and technical excellence are important parts of what we do, our mission extends far beyond building robots.

At BLAST Robotics, we believe STEM education should also build compassionate leaders, responsible citizens, and students who understand the importance of using technology to positively impact humanity.

Through this event, our students had the opportunity to interact with community members, support volunteers, and learn firsthand about the extraordinary legacy of service created by the Lions Club over the past 85 years. Students gained insight into the organization’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian outreach, vision care initiatives, eyeglass recycling programs, and support for individuals and families in need.

For many of our students, experiences like these provide lessons that cannot be taught in a classroom alone.

They help young people develop empathy, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, and a stronger understanding of how meaningful community engagement can create lasting impact. Events like this reinforce the idea that technology and innovation should ultimately serve people and strengthen communities.

We were especially grateful for the opportunity to participate in a celebration hosted at the Royer-Greaves School for Blind, a place that reflects resilience, inclusion, education, and empowerment. It was inspiring for our students to witness organizations and community leaders working together to support and uplift others.

As a robotics organization, we believe community service and technical education go hand in hand. The future leaders we hope to develop are not only skilled engineers and innovators, but also compassionate individuals who value service, collaboration, and social responsibility.

We sincerely thank the Paoli–Berwyn–Malvern Lions Club for welcoming our students and volunteers, sharing their incredible legacy of service, and allowing us to be part of such a meaningful milestone celebration.

Congratulations again on 85 years of outstanding community impact, leadership, and humanitarian service. We look forward to continuing to learn from and collaborate with organizations that inspire the next generation to lead with both innovation and compassion.
