FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) – Team 10989 “Blast Robotics”
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is often called the “Varsity Sport for the Mind.”
Students design, build, and program a 120-pound industrial-grade robot to compete in high-energy regional and national tournaments.
Our Blast Robotics Team 10989 brings together high school students from across the Main Line area to collaborate, innovate, and apply real-world engineering principles.
What Students Learn:
-
Mechanical design, CAD, and fabrication
-
Electrical and pneumatic systems
-
Programming in Java / C++
-
Project management, strategy, and teamwork
-
Leadership, outreach, and public speaking
Community Impact:
Since its launch, Team 10989 has secured partnerships with local organizations including Eadeh Enterprises, Comcast, DoD STEM, and Isolite Corporation. Students have participated in community projects such as supporting the Berwyn Fire Department and hosting local STEM workshops.
FRC teaches more than robotics — it builds confidence, integrity, and the mindset to solve real-world challenges.
