BLAST Robotics Students Gain Civic Leadership Experience with U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan

BLAST Robotics (FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10989), a program of Keystone STEM Alliance, continues to inspire students through meaningful community service, leadership development, and STEM education. On July 12, 2026, BLAST Robotics students volunteered at a community event held at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne, Pennsylvania, where they worked alongside U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan, local elected officials, community organizations, and residents.

The event provided students with a unique opportunity to experience civic leadership while serving their local community. Representing BLAST Robotics were student leaders Vivaan KP and Virat Ram, who joined fellow team members in supporting event operations. Their responsibilities included stage setup, audio-visual equipment preparation, banner installation, seating arrangements, and food service, helping ensure the event was successful while demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, and community responsibility.

Learning from U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan

Representative Chrissy Houlahan, an engineer, U.S. Air Force veteran, former educator, and business executive, has represented Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District since 2019. Throughout the event, BLAST Robotics students had the opportunity to engage directly with Representative Houlahan and other public officials, gaining valuable insight into how local, state, and federal governments work together to serve their communities.
