Blast Robotics, a student-led FIRST® Robotics Competition team, proudly participated in the Greater Philadelphia Youth Conference in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where they engaged with a diverse audience of nearly 500 attendees. The conference brought together high school students, parents, educators, local business owners, and industry leaders who serve as subject matter experts across technology and engineering fields. For many participants, this was their first opportunity to experience competitive robotics up close, making the team’s presence both exciting and highly impactful.
Throughout the event, Blast Robotics facilitated interactive, hands-on demonstrations designed to break down the fundamentals of robotics in an engaging and accessible way. Team members introduced audiences to key concepts such as electronic circuitry, mechanical design, control systems, and safety practices. They showcased how different tools and competition-grade components come together to transform raw materials into a fully functioning robot capable of completing complex challenges on the field.
Attendees were encouraged to explore the robot firsthand, ask questions, and participate in guided demonstrations. Students learned how software, sensors, motors, and structural elements work in harmony to solve real engineering problems. Parents and educators were particularly interested in how robotics builds critical skills such as teamwork, project management, creativity, and perseverance.
